Château Bel Air Gloria

The estate

Bel Air Gloria is the Haut-Médoc of Domaines Henri Martin, the house of Château Gloria and Château Saint-Pierre in Saint-Julien. The Martin family bought it in 1980, when it was still Château Bel Air, and renamed it Bel Air Gloria to spare its customers any confusion. The family today is Henri Martin’s daughter Françoise, her husband Jean-Louis Triaud, and their children Vanessa and Jean.

The vines are at Cussac-Fort-Médoc, planted 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. The estate is certified ISO 14001 since 2015 and Haute Valeur Environnementale (High Environmental Value, the French state’s environmental certification for farms) at level 3, and organic from the 2024 vintage. The grapes are picked by hand and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel, and the wine spends 12 months in French oak from the Allier and the Nièvre, 25% new; about 150,000 bottles are made a year. Bel Air Gloria was a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in the classification of 2020 and again in 2025.
