Château Noaillac

The estate

The name is older than the estate. From 1868 Charles Cocks and Édouard Féret, whose Bordeaux et ses vins was the reference book of the Bordeaux trade, list holdings at Noaillac, in Jau-Dignac-et-Loirac, among the crus bourgeois and first artisans, the main one in the Goudineau-Cruon line, and they carry the place until 1922. The Pagès family has now held Noaillac for 3 generations, and it has been a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in both the classifications of 2020 and 2025.

The vineyard is about 50 hectares of Garonne gravel, open to the winds of the estuary, planted 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, and the wine ages in French oak from several coopers. Next to Château Noaillac the family makes 2 other Médocs: Noaillac Prestige, aged in new barrels and only 5% of the production, and La Rose Noaillac. Then come the Vins de France, where the family allows itself more play: a pure Cabernet Sauvignon called So Cab, a white called Le vin de ma femme, a rosé, and 81, made without added sulfites from the original Noaillac parcels.
