The estate

Sylvie and Xavier Berrouet set up in 1986 on a small tenancy, and today they work 12 hectares of clay and limestone at Saint-Yzans-de-Médoc. They created their own label and built its name from their children’s: RO for Rodolphe, MELYS for Melyssa. The vineyard is 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, 35 years old on average, with grass cover on every plot. It is picked by machine and fermented in stainless steel, with 7 weeks on the skins, and the wine ages 12 to 18 months in oak barrels; about 88,000 bottles a year. Bejac Romelys is a Cru Artisan du Médoc in the classification for the vintages 2022 to 2026.
