Château La Mouline

The estate

Until March 1920 the Vicomte de Courcelles still lived with his family on what was then the Domaine de La Mouline, but the estate had already changed hands: Ismaël Lasserre had bought it on February 25 of that year, with 4 hectares 70 ares of vines, and he worked it until his death. His son André took over in the 1940s. In the 1960s it passed to André’s daughter Madeleine and her husband, Jean Coubris, who ran it until March 19, 1981; from then on their son Jean-Louis Coubris made the wine with his own sons, Jean-Christophe and Cédric. Since the 2000s Cédric Coubris, as manager of the family company, has been in charge, and the property now covers 30 hectares, 22 of them in vines.

The ground is clay and limestone with Pyrenean gravel, planted to Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec, with vines 30 years old on average. The wine is made in the traditional way and aged in barrel, and La Mouline was a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in the classification of 2020 and again in 2025. The second wine is Domaine de Lagorce de La Mouline.
