Château Bibian

The estate

Bibian lies in the commune of Listrac-Médoc, but its wine is a Haut-Médoc. The Meyre family, growers in the Médoc for 6 generations, bought it in 1999; Julien and Nathalie now run the family’s properties, which also include Château Cap Léon Veyrin and Château Julien, and the Michel Rolland laboratory is the oenologist.

The 20 hectares lie on clay and limestone and on Pyrenean gravel, planted 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, with vines 40 years old on average. The crop is picked by hand and by machine, sorted on a table, destemmed and crushed, and fermented in stainless steel vats; the wine is aged 12 months in oak barrels, 40% new, and fined with egg white, for a production of 80,000 bottles. Bibian was a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in the classification of 2020 and a Cru Bourgeois in that of 2025.
