Château Lalande

The estate

Lalande is the kind of estate the Médoc was built on: small, family-run and still in the hands that started it. Its archives begin in 1816, the house was built in 1819, and a deed of 1834 records Jean Dubosc handing it to his son Pierre. 8 generations of the Dubosc family have run it since. In 1992 Françoise Lescoutra, whose mother was born a Dubosc, took over the management, and since 2012 her son Xavier Lescoutra has run it.

Listrac’s clay and limestone suits Merlot, and Lalande plants accordingly: about 65% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, in 2 main blocks. Fermentation lasts 10 days to 3 weeks and the wine spends 12 to 14 months in barrel. It has been a Cru Bourgeois in both the classifications of 2020 and 2025, and alongside the Listrac-Médoc the family makes a Haut-Médoc and a prestige cuvée, Tradition de Lalande.
