Bordeaux Estates Say Gironde Wildfire Has Not Reached Vineyards

On Aug. 10, 2026, the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux said no vineyard in Gironde had been affected by the wildfire and no impact on grape quality had been observed. The group expects a promising 2026 vintage.

Austria's magazine for wine culture: Bordeaux is heading for the earliest harvest of all time

François-Xavier Maroteaux, owner of Château Brainare-Ducru and president of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux, said Bordeaux is heading toward its earliest harvest ever. He said heat, drought and smoke from nearby wildfires had not affected grape quality.
