First taste of excellent Bordeaux 2025 as region feels the pinch

At a late-March event in London, wine buyers tasted excellent Bordeaux 2025 wines, whose yields were down and berries smaller after drought and high temperatures. Philippe de Poyferré said 16 châteaux left the Grand Cercle last year for financial reasons, while 7 joined.

Wine world mourns Bordeaux legend Michel Rolland

Michel Rolland, Bordeaux oenologist and original “flying winemaker,” died from a heart attack on Friday at age 78, according to The Drinks Business. His career spanned 14 countries and 50 years, and he consulted for more than 150 wine estates.
