Château L’Arrosée

The estate

L’Arrosée was a Grand Cru Classé in each Saint-Émilion classification from the first, in 1955, through 1969, 1986, 1996, 2006 and 2012. Its neighbor was Château Quintus, the Saint-Émilion estate of Domaine Clarence Dillon, the owners of Château Haut-Brion and Château La Mission Haut-Brion, and on October 1, 2013 the group completed the purchase through Quintus SAS, its wholly owned subsidiary. Prince Robert of Luxembourg, president of Quintus SAS, presented it as a merger of equals between the 2 estates.

The Quintus team took charge of the crop and the vintage of 2013, and with the vines of L’Arrosée, Château Quintus came to 28 hectares. It was the first of 2 purchases: Grand-Pontet followed in 2021, and the 3 properties now form a single estate of 45 hectares. L’Arrosée was not in the classification of September 2022; its vines now go into Château Quintus.
