The Michelin Guide selection

Announced on September 8, 2026 at the Cité du Vin. The first new list of Bordeaux estates since the Crus Artisans of 2006, and the first by a body from outside the wine trade.

What it is

Michelin applied its own method to Bordeaux estates and published the result on September 8, 2026: 9 estates at 3 grapes, 16 at 2, 37 at 1 and 21 more listed as Selected without a grape. It is not a classification in the French legal sense. No decree homologates it, no appellation carries it, and no label may print it.

Why it matters anyway

Every other list on this page was drawn up by the Bordeaux trade or by the state at its request. This one was not, and it crosses appellations that no existing classification crosses: an estate of Pomerol and an estate of Sauternes can appear in the same tier, which no list since 1855 has allowed.
