Château Sergant

The estate

Sergant lies at the west of the commune of Lalande-de-Pomerol, a few kilometers from Libourne. For more than 70 years it belonged to the Milhade family, and it was sold when an inheritance was settled. Its operator today is the Société Fermière des Grands Crus de France, founded in 1979 by Joseph Helfrich and an offshoot of the Grands Chais de France group, and the estate is one of the Club des Propriétaires de Grands Crus.

The property covers about 22 hectares, about 21.8 of them vines, on gravel. The vines are more than 30 years old, planted 82% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, and farmed by reasoned methods that favor natural solutions. The cellar has been modernized since the early 1990s: temperature-controlled stainless steel vats in the vat room, and a new aging cellar and a storage cellar, both temperature controlled. The wine ages in French oak barrels, and there is 1 wine, Château Sergant.
