1991 was not an exciting vintage for Sauternes, as the region was affected by frost and produced a tiny vintage. Now tasted 33 years later (among a lineup of great wines - see picture), the Chateau D'Yquem 1991 was absolutely stunning.

Deep amber color, with a very intense on the nose with orange marmalade, ginger, dried apricots and spices. The palate is rich, full bodied with notes of wax, honey and ripe grilled pineapple. Very elegant with well integrated oak adding complex caramel and vanilla flavors. All hallmarks of great wines.

Perfect balance between 130g/l RS (?) and 14%, richly textured, with an extremely long finish carried by the zesty acidity.
