Château d’Yquem 2021

Yquem 2021 is one of those vintages that reminds you why the estate sits alone at the top of the 1855 Sauternes hierarchy. Botrytis arrived late and unevenly in the region, yet Yquem pulled off its signature trick: obsessive selection. Only the choicest berries make it into the final wine, and 2021 is all about crystalline tension, saffron-tinged aromatics, and a brightness you don’t often see in richer years. It’s a young Yquem with a tightrope walker’s balance. Already gorgeous, destined for decades. We had the pleasure to taste this wine at the Château earlier this year. Unforgettable.
