Croix-Mouton belongs to the group of estates Jean-Philippe Janoueix has built across Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Pomerol, Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion and Bordeaux Supérieur, and it is the one meant for the table now rather than the cellar. It lies in the commune of Lugon, on the clay soils of the Île du Carney, on the edge of Fronsac, where his 2 Bordeaux Supérieur châteaux stand on silt and clay, planted mostly to Merlot.
