The estate
Pibran belongs to AXA Millésimes, alongside Pichon Baron, Suduiraut, Domaine de l’Arlot, Disznókő and Quinta do Noval. It stands on a hilltop of Pauillac, and its winemaking and technical follow-up are in the hands of the Château Pichon Baron team, with Pierre Montégut as technical director.
The 2023 is 54% Cabernet Sauvignon and 46% Merlot, picked from September 12 to October 4 and macerated at 25 to 27°C, with the length of the maceration after fermentation decided by tasting every day; it aged 18 months, 40% in new barrels and 60% in barrels of 1 vintage.
