A small Saint-Estèphe of 3.3 hectares on high gravelly rises, in the hands of the Quancard family of Bordeaux since 1977 and sold by their house, Cheval Quancard.

The estate
Cossieu-Coutelin is a vineyard of 3.3 hectares, bought in 1977 by Marcel and Christian Quancard and part of their Bordeaux wine house, Cheval Quancard; it is held through SCEA M&C Quancard, and Julien Salles is its director. The vines grow on clay and limestone over high gravelly rises, 52% Merlot and 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, planted at 8,000 a hectare and 28 years old on average.
The 2018 came from a yield of 50 hectoliters a hectare, with 4 days of cold soak, then a gentle fermentation at 27°C over 32 days, and 12 months in French oak barrels, 60% of them new.
