Château Pavillon Bel-Air “Le Chapelain” 2008, Lalande-de-Pomerol

Pavillon Bel-Air sits just north of Pomerol, in Lalande-de-Pomerol, where clay and gravel soils create approachable, Merlot-driven wines with plenty of charm. “Le Chapelain” is the estate’s cuvée that aims for a bit more depth and aging potential.

2008 was a cooler year with bright acidity, and that shows in the wine’s lift and clarity. Red cherry, subtle spice, and soft tannins make this a very easy bottle to enjoy. It’s the sort of Right Bank wine that disappears quickly at the table because it asks for nothing and gives a lot. Proof that you don’t need a famous postcode to drink well.
