The distance between 2016 and 2017 in Lalande de Pomerol is only a single year on the label, yet the growing seasons could hardly have been more different.

The 2016 vintage emerged from near ideal conditions on the Right Bank, producing wines with depth, balance, and long term structure. By contrast, 2017 forced Bordeaux into defensive viticulture after devastating spring frosts across parts of the region. Estates that succeeded in 2017 often did so through careful selection, precision in the vineyard, and a refusal to overcompensate in the cellar.
