Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 1988 & 1990 (Sauternes)

Few labels in Sauternes have the pedigree of Lafaurie-Peyraguey. The château dates back to the 13th century, and its wines have been admired since long before the 1855 Classification. When botrytis and vintage conditions align, the estate produces some of the most refined sweet wines in Bordeaux.

1988 is vibrant, honeyed and beautifully defined, one of the great classic-style Sauternes vintages. 1990 is richer and more opulent, layered with apricot, saffron and candied citrus. Together they remind us that aged Sauternes remains one of the last undiscovered luxuries of the wine world.
