Château Gazin, Pomerol 1994

The beautiful label depicts the cross of the Order of Malta, honoring its history as the site of the Hospital of Pomeyrols, a refuge for pilgrims en route to Santiago de Compostela. Gazin borders L’Évangile and Pétrus, sharing their famous blue clay soil.

This 1994 Gazin has a brown color, typical of a 31-year-old wine. Rich and robust aromas and flavors of earth, leather, truffles, blackcurrants, and plum. The finish remains impressively long. A very pleasant, mature wine that’s ready to drink now. 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
