Château Cos D’Estournel, Saint-Estèphe 2003. Spectacular wine. The color is more on the brownish side, and not very vibrant, which showcases a certain age. On the nose there is an explosion of aromas, with intense notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, and plums. Voluptuous is a word that comes to mind. On the palate the fruit flavor persists, complemented by the tertiary notes of coffee and mushrooms. The tannins are perfectly rounded and integrated, and the acidity is medium. Persistent finish. Very impressive wine all-around. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, and 1% Cabernet Franc.
