Pagodes de Cos often gets described as a second wine, but in vintages like 2016, that label feels limiting. This is Cos d’Estournel’s voice, just spoken a little earlier and with a lighter accent.

The balance here is what makes it compelling. Freshness, ripe fruit, and structure are all present, but nothing dominates. It is expressive without trying to impress, and that makes it incredibly satisfying at the table. It was served in magnum.
