This may be my new favorite wine from Lalande-de-Pomerol, an often overlooked AOC on the Right Bank of the Gironde Estuary that consistently delivers good wines at a fraction of the prices found in neighboring appellations.

The winemaker here is Thierry Garnaud, who was the winemaker at Château Cheval Blanc for 30 years, which may explain the precision of this wine.

It shows a dark and vibrant ruby color, with intense aromas of black and red fruits, and a touch of truffles. The flavors are savory and juicy, with elegant fruits such as blackberries, strawberries, and red cherries. It is a complex wine with balanced acidity and enjoyable tannins.
