In Saint-Émilion, 1996 is sometimes overshadowed by Left Bank icons, but Beau-Séjour Bécot shows how beautifully the year translated on the Right Bank when terroir and timing aligned.

Nearly three decades on, the wine is composed and quietly confident. The fruit has moved into a savory register with dried plum, cedar and a touch of graphite, while the limestone backbone keeps everything upright and fresh.
