The estate
The Cosyns were brewers in Belgium before they came to the Côtes de Bourg, where the family has now been settled for 3 generations; the buildings of the estate date from 1841, and it is run as SCEA Cosyns. The 28 hectares lie in a single block on silty clay at Teuillac, planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. The farming is organic and biodynamic, and the vineyard is certified organic by Ecocert France, under an engagement that goes back to July 2009. Grand Launay makes red, rosé and white wines, opens its cellars to visitors and takes guests in bed and breakfast rooms all year.
