Les Pagodes de Cos 2003, Saint-Estèphe

Les Pagodes de Cos is the second wine of Cos d’Estournel, one of Saint-Estèphe’s great estates. Its name comes from the château’s striking pagoda-style architecture, a reminder of Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel’s fascination with the East.

The 2003 vintage was marked by an unprecedented summer heatwave. Many wines suffered, but the deep clay soils of Saint-Estèphe helped retain moisture and balance. Les Pagodes de Cos 2003 carries the ripe, exotic fruit of that year, smoothed by time in bottle.
