Château Les Forts de Latour 2018, Pauillac

Les Forts de Latour was first labeled “Les Forts de Latour” in 1966, taking its name from a historic plot within the Enclos. It exists for a clear reason: to preserve the strictest selection for the Grand Vin while still bottling a wine that carries Latour’s discipline and Pauillac’s architectural structure.

The 2018 vintage on the Left Bank produced wines of serious depth, and a second wine from a First Growth in a year like this is a study in selection rather than compromise. It is one of the most convincing ways to understand how Latour thinks about hierarchy, blending, and time.
