Château La Dominique 2016, Saint Émilion Grand Cru Classé

La Dominique occupies one of the most strategic locations in Saint Émilion, sitting directly beside Cheval Blanc and close to the border with Pomerol. Its soils shift between gravel, clay, and sand, giving the estate access to a broader range of blending components than many of its neighbors.

The modern identity of the château accelerated after Clément Fayat acquired the property in 1969, but the most visible transformation came decades later with the construction of the winery designed by Jean Nouvel. Its red exterior has become one of the most recognizable architectural statements in Bordeaux. On its roof sits La Terrasse Rouge, a restaurant overlooking the vineyards toward Pomerol, where the wine and the landscape meet in the same frame.
