How to read this

Capitals mark the stressed syllable. The recording is the reference.

Oeneo, the Cognac group of the Hériard Dubreuil family, sells about 60,000 barrels a year under Seguin Moreau, a name with roots in 1838, and the stoppers of Diam.

The house

The barrel side of the group comes from 2 houses of the Charente: Tonnellerie Moreau, founded in 1838, and Tonnellerie Seguin, founded in 1870. Rémy Martin acquired the Seguin Moreau name in 1970. On June 18, 2003 the group then called Sabaté Diosos took the name Oeneo.

Oeneo has 2 trades: closures, under Diam, Mytik and Setop, and barrels and winemaking, under Seguin Moreau, Millet, Galileo, Boisé and Vivelys. It took 49% of Boisé France, a maker of oak for winemaking, in 2008, and bought Vivelys, founded in 1993, in 2014. On August 19, 2019 Seguin Moreau’s Napa cooperage announced that it would restart a stave mill at Malvern, in Arkansas, to bring American oak of its own. Caspar, the Hériard Dubreuil family’s company, held nearly 71% of the capital and more than 83% of the voting rights at March 31, 2026; the rest of the shares trade in Paris. In the year to March 31, 2026 the group’s sales came to about 275 million euros, about 65 million of them from barrels and winemaking.

Seguin Moreau employs 100 coopers and makes casks of 225 to 600 liters and vats of up to 1,200 hectoliters. It has been PEFC certified since 2005 and ISO 22000 since 2007, and the group sells about 60,000 barrels a year. On November 22, 2007 Seguin Moreau filed a French patent for a wooden winemaking vat with transparent staves, naming Christian Normand and Jean Baptiste Comoy as its inventors; it was granted in 2010. In 2014 Château Dauzac, in Margaux, began using wooden vats with transparent double staves that Seguin Moreau built for it.
