How to read this

Capitals mark the stressed syllable. The French r comes from the back of the throat. The recording is the reference.

Guy Millet founded this cooperage at Puisseguin in 1952; his son Dominique moved it to Galgon and, when Oeneo took 51% in 2018, kept 49% and stayed on to run production.

The house

Guy Millet founded his cooperage in 1952 at Puisseguin, next to Saint-Émilion. His son Dominique worked beside him for years and took the lead in 1995, and in 2000 he moved the workshop to Galgon, north of Libourne, where it still is. The house works oak of fine and extra-fine grain from the large state forests.

In April 2018 Oeneo, the listed group whose cooperage is Seguin Moreau, bought 51% of Tonnellerie Millet, with options on the rest from 2022. Dominique Millet, a master cooper, kept 49% and stayed on as director of production. The house then worked with small and medium-sized producers of the Right Bank and, abroad, mostly with buyers in the United States. It had a turnover of nearly 800,000 euros in 2017, and the deal opened the group’s sales network to its barrels.

Oeneo has chaired the house since October 15, 2018, and Magdeleine Allaume, who also directs Seguin Moreau, has been its general director since September 21, 2022. In June 2026 Oeneo listed Millet among its cooperage brands, beside Seguin Moreau.
