Patrick Bernard’s house has sold the grands crus of Bordeaux straight to private buyers since 1987, and online since 1997, out of its own cellars on the quai de Paludate.

The house

Patrick Bernard founded the company in Bordeaux in 1983, within his family’s group. In 1987 it began to sell directly to private clients, and in 1988 it printed its first catalog. Germany, in 1992, was its first market outside France. Online sales began in 1997, and in 2001 the house launched an internet venture, Wine and Co, with LVMH.

The stock is kept in the house’s own cellars on the quai de Paludate, in Bordeaux, and the wines are sold en primeur (sold as futures, while the wine is still in barrel) and in bottle; its shops trade as Jéroboam by Millésima. In June 1998 Patrick Bernard bought Château Peyrabon, at Saint-Sauveur in the Haut-Médoc, with La Fleur Peyrabon, its Pauillac. The house sold the 2 in September 2022 to the Castéja heirs, the family of Château Batailley, and kept the distribution of their wines.

Fabrice Bernard, the founder’s son, has led the company since 2016 and chairs its board, on which the family group, Groupe Bernard, also sits; Hortense Bernard has led sales and marketing since 2021. In 2025 the house that printed its first catalog in 1988 sold about 48 million euros of wine, with 78 employees.
