How to read this

Capitals mark the stressed syllable. “ohn” is a nasal vowel: say it through the nose, with no n. The recording is the reference.

The house Roger Bouey founded with his sons in 1958 makes about 10 million bottles a year and sells 60% of them abroad, and the family has had vines in the Médoc since 1821.

The house

The Boueys have been in the Médoc since 1821, when Nicolas Bouey bought the family’s first vines there. Roger Bouey founded the merchant house in 1958 with his sons, Serge and André, and the family kept its land as it built the trade. Château Maison Blanche is its historic house in the Médoc, and it renamed Château La France Delhomme for an ancestor when it bought it. Its other estates include Château Du Mont, Château Lestruelle, Château La Ribaud and Château Le Plantey.

In 2007 Patrick and Jacques Bouey began to work with the consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt, who oversees the vines and the wines of the family estates and of 2 collections of the house. Its brands run from Les Parcelles and Malbec Origine to Génération Nature. The house works from Landiras, in the Graves, makes about 10 million bottles a year with 52 staff, and sells 60% of them abroad.

In June 2025 Maison Bouey signed an agreement of co-operation with Les Grands Chais de France, and a partnership in logistics and production followed on August 1. The purchase of the house by Les Grands Chais de France took effect on October 1, 2025. Jacques Bouey and Joseph Helfrich, the founder of Les Grands Chais de France, had signed in September 2025 as its 2 chief executives, with Yann Bouey as commercial director.
