Les Arums de Lagrange 2023, Bordeaux Blanc

When Suntory acquired Château Lagrange in 1983, the Third Growth was in decline. Over the following decades, the Japanese company invested heavily in the vineyards, the cellars, and the winemaking team, turning one of Saint Julien's underperforming estates into one of its most consistent. That transformation extended beyond the reds. Les Arums de Lagrange, the estate's white, reflects the same precision driven approach applied to a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, and Sémillon.

Like other whites from classified Médoc estates, it is released as Bordeaux Blanc, since Saint Julien permits only red wine. But the quality here has little to do with the appellation on the label.
