Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2012

Les Carmes Haut-Brion is, by its very DNA, unlike anything else in Pessac-Léognan. It is the only estate with vineyards inside Bordeaux city limits, and its style leans toward elegance, perfume, and Cabernet Franc’s aromatic lift. The 2012 predates the new cellar and precision era but already shows the estate’s signature identity, with silky texture, spice, and a gently smoky echo from the Graves soils. It’s the kind of wine that feels like someone turned the volume down and the detail up.
