Château Giscours, Margaux 2005

Wine of the night, even in a lineup that included Château Margaux and Château Palmer. From one of Bordeaux’s standout vintages, this 2005 delivered everything you’d hope for from a 20-year-old wine produced by a top estate.

The nose has an intense, almost sweet attack. Tawny in color, it has multilayered flavors of plum, black fruit, earth, leather, sage, coconut sugar, and violets. Full-bodied with solid structure, integrated tannins, and a long finish.
