Château Clerc Milon 1983, Pauillac

Clerc Milon’s label has one of the most recognizable motifs in Bordeaux. The two dancers were introduced in 1983. The figures come from a miniature that once belonged to Catherine II of Russia, inspired by characters of the Commedia dell’Arte.

The 1983 vintage in Pauillac favored Cabernet Sauvignon. Clerc Milon at the time was still in the early stages of its revival under Baron Philippe, but the estate already showed the shift toward cleaner fruit and greater definition. With bottle age, the wine leans into classic Pauillac notes: cedar, graphite, soft blackcurrant, and the gentle earthiness that marks mature Left Bank Cabernet. This us pure art.
