Château Boyd-Cantenac 1999, Margaux

Boyd-Cantenac is one of Margaux’s less acclaimed Third Growths, but its history runs deep: the Boyd family of Irish origin acquired it in the 18th century, and the name has remained ever since. The style is true to Margaux: perfumed, silky, and more about finesse than sheer power.

The 1999 vintage was uneven across Bordeaux, but Margaux did well, producing supple, aromatic wines. Boyd-Cantenac 1999 is all about approachability and charm, offering a snapshot of Margaux elegance in a softer year.
