None. When Pessac-Léognan was carved out of it in 1987, every Cru Classé de Graves went with it.

No. It is about 40% larger: 1,131 hectares against 813. It spans 2 communes, Lalande-de-Pomerol and Néac, once separate appellations.

Cadillac and Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux: what is the difference?

Accepted Answer

Color. Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux is red only. The sweet white wines of the same communes must be sold as Cadillac, a different appellation.

AOC Blaye and AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux: the same thing?

No. Blaye is the small, stricter one: red only, with denser planting and at least 2 varieties in the blend. Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux is far larger and also makes white.

No, it is sweet, and it barely exists: at the 2017 harvest, 13 hectares of it against 11,890 hectares of the red.

No. It also classifies the sweet whites of Sauternes and Barsac. The common claim that Haut-Brion is the only non-Médoc estate in the 1855 Classification is true only of the red list.
