Château Croix Beauséjour

The estate

Croix Beauséjour is a family estate, and its 5th generation, the brothers Rémi and Clément Laporte, live and work on it. They began converting the vineyard to organic farming in 2020, and 2023 was the first organic vintage. An old house near the cellar, entirely renovated in 2017, has 4 guest rooms.

The vines grow on clay and limestone, 75% Merlot, 15% Malbec and 10% Cabernet Franc. The range climbs in steps: the Cuvée Tradition, to be drunk young; the Cuvée Référence, aged in oak; and the Cuvée Prestige, from vines over 80 years old, 12 months in new barrels. Mai-Ly is a Cabernet Franc and Malbec, and Vin des Frangins, the brothers’ wine, is a pure Merlot from vines about 30 years old, cropped at 35 hectoliters a hectare and aged 18 months in steel, about 15,000 bottles.
