Château Crabitan-Bellevue

The estate

The Solanes have grown vines at Crabitan, on the heights of Sainte-Croix-du-Mont, since 1870. They were coopers first, and built the vineyard up little by little; Nicolas Solane carries it on today. The slopes face Sauternes across the river, on clay and limestone, and the estate holds the Haute Valeur Environnementale (High Environmental Value, the French state’s environmental certification for farms) label.

The heart of the house is its sweet Sainte-Croix-du-Mont. Alongside it the family makes a sweet white Premières Côtes de Bordeaux of 100% Sémillon, raised in stainless steel, a red Côtes de Bordeaux and a red and a white Bordeaux.
