Château Phélan Segur, Saint-Estèphe 2015

Outstanding vintage in Bordeaux that produced this very good wine. Although this château was the largest property in Saint-Estèphe by the end of the 19th century, it is not a classified growth under the 1855 Classification. Today’s quality, however, is unequivocal. This 2015 was a little harsh at the beginning, but it improved in the glass. Bold aromas of blackberry and wood, concentrated flavors, tannins starting to show balance. It may improve with additional age. 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot. Tasted in February 2024 by A.A. Château Phélan Ségur
