Carruades de Lafite 2021

Carruades is the second wine of Château Lafite Rothschild, named after the plateau adjoining the great vineyard. While always carrying the Lafite DNA, Carruades often offers a more approachable, earlier-drinking style.

2021 was a challenging year across Bordeaux, with frost, mildew, and uneven ripening. Yet Carruades remains elegant, with Cabernet-driven notes of drark fruit and eucalyptus as well as greener aromas, wrapped in a light frame. It is very young. 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot.
